ASTM A193 B7 / ASTM A320 L7 Round Bar Supplier

Looking for ASTM A193 Grade B7, ASTM A320 Grade L7 or Thread Rolling Bars (TRB) for stud bolt manufacturing?

WTE PowerSteel is a European supplier and stockholder of ASTM A193 B7 / ASTM A320 L7 alloy steel round bars for critical bolting applications. We supply certified round bars with full material traceability, EN 10204 3.1 certification and fast worldwide delivery.

ASTM A193 Grade B7 is one of the world’s most widely specified alloy steel grades for high-pressure and high-temperature bolting. It is commonly used for manufacturing stud bolts, threaded rods, anchor bolts and other critical fastening components for pressure vessels, valves, flanges and piping systems operating under demanding service conditions.

ASTM A320 Grade L7 is manufactured from a similar chromium-molybdenum alloy steel but is additionally impact tested for low-temperature service. This makes it the preferred material for bolting used in cryogenic systems, LNG facilities, offshore installations and other applications where excellent toughness at sub-zero temperatures is required.

Why Choose ASTM A193 B7 / ASTM A320 L7?

Compared with conventional alloy steels, ASTM A193 B7 and ASTM A320 L7 provide excellent mechanical strength, fatigue resistance and long service life for critical bolting applications. While B7 is primarily selected for elevated-temperature service, L7 offers the additional low-temperature toughness required for demanding cryogenic and sub-zero environments.

Key Benefits

  • High mechanical strength
  • Excellent fatigue resistance
  • Good machinability after heat treatment

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ASTM A193 Grade B7?

ASTM A193 Grade B7 is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel specification widely used for manufacturing high-strength bolts, stud bolts and threaded rods for high-pressure and elevated-temperature applications in power generation, petrochemical plants and industrial piping systems.

What is the difference between ASTM A193 B7 and ASTM A320 L7?

Both specifications use similar chromium-molybdenum alloy steel and provide comparable mechanical strength. The key difference is that ASTM A320 L7 requires mandatory Charpy impact testing, making it suitable for low-temperature and cryogenic service, while ASTM A193 B7 is intended for standard and elevated-temperature applications.
